This is actually one of my personal sites which has “blown up” in the past 6 months. The site launched in the middle of March 2011 and it only had coverage from a few truck shows that I went to in 2010. Little did I know it would turn into what it is today. Hundreds of followers on Twitter, thousands of likes on the Facebook page, tons of MTS (Mini Truck Scene) gear sold around the world, and even a feature in Minitruckin Magazine!
The goal for this site was just to showcase my photography from truck shows that I went to. That turned into wanting to take a blog approach to it and write a story about my experiences from the weekend. For all the guys who wished they could have made it out to the show, it kind of made them feel like they were there.
There were certain features that I knew I wanted this site to have. Here are some of those:
The site has a clean layout with a limited color palette. It isn’t covered in ads and other unnecessary annoyances like a lot of other similar sites. I do intend to have some advertisers on the site at some point, but it will be a limited amount and in predefined locations. It just won’t be setup where ads take over the site and the whole reason behind the Mini Truck Scene.
I’m a minitrucker til I die and I love being able to share my experiences with as many people as I can. We even have a few contributors to the site who send in show coverage, features, articles, and more. 2012 is going to be a big year for MTS!
